Hi, I’m Fiona! I paint watercolours of places and people, creating space for the imagination using line and colour. Originally from the UK, I’m now based in Columbus, Ohio.
My own journey has shaped the way that I illustrate. I have studied Architecture at Cambridge University and Oxford Brookes University, and worked in architectural firms in UK and US cities. I have taught courses in Art and Architectural History and have traveled to see as much art and architecture as possible! Through these experiences I have grown interested in our many stories: of people, places and objects, and how they powerfully connect us to our past. Within my own family, I take care of two kids and a dog who all get very curious about the smallest of details. In consequence my perspective draws from multiple scales, finding beauty in the big picture and the tiny moments.
Commercial and picture book clients include: The Scout Guide magazine (Columbus, Cincinnati, Charleston, Naples); Experience Columbus, Chinosity news, She Has A Name, Firefly Education, The City Art Book series, as well as many small businesses. I also paint custom home and wedding commissions for private clients and my watercolour cityscapes have been shown across the US in solo and group exhibitions.
